sight word，中文称为高频词或常用词，是由美国学者 Dolch 针对英语儿童读物做了系统分析和统计后整理出来的最常使用的词。这些词在英语教科书，图书，报章，杂志中的出现率为 60-85%。这些词在初期阅读中出现频率很高，学完之后再阅读，没准你会发现十个词中孩子已能读出其中的 7、8个；再结合读本中提供的图片以及前后文，做文意之猜测与理解，孩子的英语阅读之路会顺畅许多。
